Six Habits For Success
March 25, 2024

Hey there, fellow health enthusiasts! Today, I want to talk about something near and dear to my heart: taking care of our bodies and minds. As someone who's passionate about wellness, I believe that small, everyday habits can make a big difference in our overall health and happiness. So, let's dive into some key practices that can help us live our best lives:

1.Eat Healthy: When it comes to nutrition, I've learned that variety is key. Instead of focusing on restrictive diets or counting calories, I aim to fill my plate with a rainbow of colors, incorporating plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. These nutrient-dense foods not only provide essential vitamins and minerals but also help me feel energized and satisfied throughout the day. Lately Sam and I have been working together to come up with a meal plan that makes everyone happy. We focus on minimal ingredients, lots of veggies, easy clean up and

2. Good Hygiene: While it may seem like a mundane task, proper hygiene is a cornerstone of good health. In addition to regular handwashing, I make it a point to practice good oral hygiene and scheduling regular dental check-ups. Recently my esthetician taught me the importance of washing your face twice! The first time removes the dirt from the pores and the second time allows the penetration of your products! I’ve also started using Lume, an aluminum free body deodorant. I plan to buy the cream to cleanse my underarms and remove the toxins. Stay tuned on that.   I also pay attention to personal hygiene habits like showering regularly (although I only wash my hair once, maybe twice a week) and keeping my living spaces clean and clutter-free. These simple habits not only help prevent the spread of illness but also promote overall well-being and self-confidence.

3. Hydration: As someone who's always on the go, staying hydrated is essential for keeping my body functioning at its best. I aim to drink half my body weight in ounces of water a day. I never leave the house without my Stanley. As soon as I finish one, I refill it so I’m never out. We don’t want to wait until we are thirsty to drink, we need to hydrate all day long. I've noticed that staying hydrated not only helps me feel more alert and focused but also improves my digestion, boosts my mood, and enhances my skin health. Plus, it's a habit that's easy to incorporate into my daily routine, whether I'm at work, at the gym, or simply relaxing at home. If it is hard for you to remember, set an alarm on your phone to go off every hour.

4. Good Night's Sleep: In today's fast-paced world, getting enough sleep can feel like a luxury, but I've come to realize that it's a non-negotiable aspect of self-care. To ensure a restful night's sleep, I prioritize creating a relaxing bedtime routine, which may include activities like reading with my kids, journaling, or practicing gentle yoga stretches. I also make it a point to create a sleep-friendly environment by keeping my bedroom dark, cool, and quiet, and avoiding screens and stimulating activities before bedtime. By committing to these habits, I've noticed a significant improvement in my sleep quality and overall well-being. I aim for 7-9 hours every night and you should too!

5. Working Out: Exercise isn't just about achieving a certain weight or look – it's about nurturing my body and mind from the inside out. That's why I've made it a priority to find activities that I enjoy and that make me feel good, whether it's going for a run with friends, walking the dogs, or practicing yoga in the comfort of my own home. I also suggest trying one of my On Demand Videos @ www.masseyfit.com/ondemand, they are quick, effective & there are so many to choose from! By staying active on a regular basis, I've experienced countless benefits, including increased energy, improved mood, reduced stress levels, and better overall physical health. Plus, I've discovered a newfound appreciation for my body and all that it's capable of, regardless of size or shape. This is not to say I don’t struggle with body image, because I do, but I am trying to shift my mindset to the present moment, the experience, the joy instead of how I look.

6.Regular Check-ups: While it's easy to put off routine health screenings and check-ups, I've learned that prevention is key when it comes to maintaining my long-term health and well-being. That's why I am taking my health into my own hands. Yes I do my yearly check ups, but I am also seeing someone specifically for my hormone health. I have a therapist that has been so helpful, if you are looking for someone, I suggest giving www.betterhelp.com a try! These appointments not only allow me to stay on top of any potential health issues but also provide an opportunity to discuss any concerns or questions I may have about my health. Plus, knowing that I'm taking proactive steps to care for my body gives me peace of mind and empowers me to make informed decisions about my health.

I hope you find these six habits helpful! While they may seem simple, many of us often fail to consistently practice them. We may know we should, or we may start doing them for a while, only to eventually stop. However, if we can prioritize these habits, we will notice significant changes in how we feel – we'll feel stronger, happier, more energetic, and overall healthier. Here's to embracing these habits and nurturing our bodies and minds for years to come! 🌱💪 #HealthyHabits #WellnessJourney #SelfCare
